A lot of regex calls are invoked. This improper implementation causes slowdown loading many webpages.

This add-on caused Google and other sites to stop responding for long periods of time.
For example, when performing a search, it would take about 10 seconds to respond.
I also had to wait several seconds when posting to social media.
I don't know the details, but disabling this add-on solved the problem.

It's not working in iframe. Plain Text Linker is better.

Installed this and got many warning slowdown bar.

Installation of this addon results in heavy Firefox slowdown.
I had to disable it.

This add-on was essential before FFv57 and I was waiting for it (and some others) before I updated to the latest FF. But I had to deactivate Text Link because it slows down Firefox when there is more than just a little bit of text on the current website. :(

I tried this addon, but had to remove it as it caused CHOPPY SCROLLING on lots of pages, especially Google, not every search but on many.

Doesn't work with 52.5.2 ESR.

It works as promised. I'm using Firefox Quantum 57.0 (32-Bit) running under Lubuntu 16.04 LTS (32-Bit). Thanks a lot for this useful extension!

PS (10.05.2021): Opening multiple links is no longer working since last update a few days ago. I wish I hadn't allowed automatic updates. My Browser: Firefox 88.0 (32-Bit) under Lubuntu 16.04 LTS (32-Bit). Resetting and reinstalling didn't repair the problem. I will probably have to look for another extension.
