    In general, a nice add-on.
    But: It's not actually "light weight", it slows the browser down and sometime prevents videos from playing. Besides that it will kind of switch off Adblock Plus and uBlock Origin if "allow ads" is turned on.
    I was only looking for an add-on that presets video quality and playback speed, this is kind of an overkill for that purpose.

    Hi. There's a problem when opening YouTube videos that have chat. When I enable the "Appearance, Sidebar, Live chat, Hidden" option in Improve YouTube, instead of hiding the chat, half the video remains with a black box. Previously, when I enabled this option, the chat disappeared completely, and the video didn't have half the screen with a black box.
    Could you please resolve this issue?

    It has some nice options and settings possibilities. But unfortunately, some things do not work properly and my browser (Librefox on Linux) becomes completely overloaded, to the point where it even suggests deactivating the add-on! This has happened several times now and is therefore not usable for me.

    Works allright, but on mobile, you have tonswitch to "desktop mode" to make some features work, like automatically redirecting from the shitty "shorts" page to the actual YouTube page for the video.

    Hi! Please add the mobile URL in our github repo if you will. This is made for www.youtube since 2012 (and www.youtube changes alone required a lot of volunteering). The descriptions sais "... (+preparing mobile m.youtube)". (Please give fair feedback. We could flag it as "Misplaced bug report or support request", but prefer to keep information visible.)

    Very good QQL feature add, however it is extremely performance intensive, do NOT use the build in theme feature 100% will slow down site responsiveness.
    Also it would be nice to add a action menu because the YouTube ui keep changing so I can stop seeing buggy UI

    Edit: CPU usage wise I think so, but it seems to also interfere with page loading, most of the time for me it's a blank page

    1. You mean a full page youtune replacement UI? 2. There currently is a CPU hungry bug only for the moment while you are changing our settings and only in Firefox.
    EDIT: Blank page? why and how? Did you check the browser console before? If it is related to one of our features the will you use our github bug report form please? (I shouldn't type this 1000s of times and Firefox feedback is not meant to be bad for bug reports. It will be remove then.)

    Extension works great but causes videos in playlist to become stretched and wide. Can't fix without disabling extension.

    good but if possible I'd like an option to add a button to quick-add videos to a certain playlist, like "add to last selected playlist" instead of having to select the playlist in the menu on default youtube

    I mean, it functions as it's supposed to for the most part, however changing the "thumbnail quality" setting causes most thumbnails to not load at all. It also once removed my entire video suggestions column until I deleted and redownloaded it and I still don't know why, so beware screwing around with the settings.

    hi! this feature specifically doesn't work yet with Firefox only. https://github.com/code-charity/youtube/issues/2310, however, since Firefox featured us, now all known Firefox bug can be considered urgent. Did you possibly forget using the feature to hide recommend videos? Please consider it is more likely that there was no need to reinstall. We are one of the biggest projects among the browser extensions already. Over 170 People have helped. Still it is common, that some issues stay for years. You can make a difference. 1000 of steps have been done and 100 are currently on the to-do Lists. We prioritize.

    The lag is real and not just a myth, please don't just deny it instead try to fix the issue.

    My youtube is lag heavily for at least couple months (I even switch to freetube but switch back because it got some problems too).

    I tried browser switcher and many things but never solve the problem. Pretty much youtube will lag heavily (pause and move 5 second can take over 5 seconds to respond) after I use it for more than 5-10 minutes.

    Today I just remove the extention and the problem solved. I've been using youtube for at least over 3 hours now and there's no lag anymore.

    Please don't say any excuse and try to fix the issue.

    I usually only open less than 5 tabs on my browser and saying that you guys are just some volunteer is not a reason to not fix your extention.

    Suspected performance issues ongoing since late autumn early winter 2024 - currently operating Firefox with extension disabled and haven't had to restart for over 24hrs. Will try to follow up in a week or so.

    Hi! fortunately this is more often a legend. Do you check the exact performance taken per tab? (did if you seen an error in the console? Unfortunately Firefox has not reviewed our fixes since December 29.)

    because of this extension, YouTube started to hang heavily on my PC, which eventually results in a banner saying that the tab slows down firefox, the same thing on the second PC, but it freezes TIGHTLY.
    the exclusion method revealed this extension. oh, it inspired great hopes šŸ˜­šŸ˜­šŸ˜­

    ok, I won't rate it "unfairly".

    hi! Please don't feed such old myth against browser-extensions.
    You don't need a exclusion method but you can actually see exactly how much ram or cpu an extension consumes (usually little)

    The import/export settings buttons do not work.
    The live chat collapsed option has the same behavior as normal, while the hide option leaves an empty space on the right side of the window, collapsing the video description and the recommended videos.

    I loved this addon and its features, however a while back videos on youtube stopped playing for me and i had to switch to incognito mode to be able to watch anything. At first i thought it was due to one of the other extensions, but after some testing i realized it was this one. It's a great addon, but sadly it doesn't work.

    Worked perfectly until Firefox upgraded to v130 then blocking shorts stopped working

    I really like this addon, but it causes serious lag when you go to people's channel. Then it gives the 'do you want to stop running the script that is slowing the page down.' Or whatever the popup is. You have to close the whole tab and start over for it to quit the lag until the next time you go to a channel.

    Wow! Are you using our blocklist? Since when exactly? Please report all details (here or better join us on github) (We don't run much by default. Can't run anything special on channel pages. And you will know or see what features you enabled.)

    Disable annotations never seems to work for me. I hate anything that pops up over my videos, no matter how small it is. Please look into this. Thank you.

    hi, this volunteer project is a rare and special sacrifice of time as it has grown in amount of features and users since almost 12 years. So wishes shouldn't come with down-voting. We are not negatively motivated, but it just makes some volunteers feel misunderstood and leave. So if you care about any of these features the only good thing to do is join us on https://github.com/code-charity/YouTube.

    Please consider the other options following "Hide annotations": Hide cards, Show cards on mouse hover, Hide endscreen.
    Also: "This add-on..." accesses www.youtube.com. It runs fine on Android - on www.youtube.com, we are not running on m.youtube yet, which is very different.

    Most people are here for specific wishes which are rarely implemented anywhere else at all. but if we implement even more of them we do first have to focus on structure of the the lists of features, so that they wont be too crowded, so that the project will be more misunderstood and fewer users might pay the effort to even scroll down the lists.
